PlayStation 4 gamers that have yet to upgrade to a PS5 may be in luck, as rumor has it that the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem will be releasing for the older console. Resident Evil Requiem, aka Resident Evil 9, was first revealed at Summer Game Fest in June. Requiem then showed up at Gamescom in August with an extended look that provided more insight into protagonist Grace Ashcroft's backstory, but there is still a lot about the game that has yet to be revealed.

For example, it's been heavily rumored that Resident Evil Requiem will feature Leon S. Kennedy as a second main character alongside Grace Ashcroft. Reliable insiders have insisted that Leon is indeed in the game and that his sections will be more action-oriented, while Grace's sections will be more horror-focused. Fans can expect more information on Resident Evil Requiem to come to light in the months leading up to its February 27, 2026 release, and that info may include a Leon reveal as well as additional platforms it could be releasing on.
