PlayStation gamers are reporting that PSN seems to be down. Despite the apparent troubles with the PlayStation Network, the official website isn't showing any issues at the time of publication.
PSN outages aren't extremely common, but they do happen from time to time. They can be a major issue for gamers when they strike, as PSN not operating correctly generally means that online gameplay, friends lists, and more are inaccessible.
Reports initially began appearing that players were experiencing difficulties on the PlayStation family of consoles at around 4:15 PM Pacific Time. The problem seems to be impacting a lot of players, as Down Detector indicates that there are nearly 10,000 reports as of 5 PM PT. At the moment, PlayStation hasn't addressed the issue on any official channels, and the automated website doesn't acknowledge there are any issues with the service. However, gamers report that they're unable to access their friends lists, use parties, or play online games.
