Mewgenics' journey began in 2012, when Edmund McMillen announced the game after the mega-success of Super Meat Boy. Scheduled for release in 2014, the game made an appearance at PAX East in Boston that same year with a playable demo, but no release date. The situation became even trickier when McMillen announced his new game, The Legend of Bum-bo, in 2018, putting Mewgenics on hold indefinitely. Years later, the developer revealed a preview of Mewgenics' combat, and in 2024, he teased details about the game. Now, fans can celebrate, as the wait for Mewgenics is nearly at an end.
