Resident Evil has been steadily working its way through remakes of the franchise, but as far as the numbered titles go, it looks like we'll be in a lull for a while. While there's a big gap between 2002's Resident Evil remake and 2019's return to RE2, it didn't take long for RE3 and 4 remakes to follow. Those waiting on RE5, however, will seemingly have to keep waiting.
Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem shared on X that "RE5 Remake is not in development at this point in time," noting in a follow-up tweet that they're "100% sure" it hasn't been greenlit. While it isn't the first time Dusk Golem has addressed the status of an RE5 remake, it confirms that Capcom still hasn't made any moves in that direction since the last update. Instead, the company is continuing to work on Resident Evil Requiem and alleged remakes of Resident Evil 0 and Code: Veronica.
