It's almost hard to believe that Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here, and, as it turns out, it has already broken a Steam record in less than one hour from release. Silksong is one of the most anticipated games of the year, so much so that its release earlier today broke the internet, leading to many product page crashes, credit cards being rejected, and more purchasing headaches. But a lot of people have gotten in.

According to the data from SteamDB, Silksong, as of this writing, already has more than 111,000 players, less than an hour after the game's release. That beats the original Hollow Knight, which had an all-time concurrent player count of 72,916, according to SteamDB, as of yesterday, right before the release of Silksong.

Silksong is one of the most anticipated games of 2025, after years of mystery and virtual radio silence from developer Team Cherry. Now, the wait has come to an end, and based on those who can purchase and download the game, it seems it is already a big hit. The Steam numbers also do not reflect Xbox Game Pass or any other platform.
