So many fans were waiting for the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong that multiple game service pages crashed right as the game released. Silksong has been in the gaming pipeline for six years now, and with the smashing success of the first Hollow Knight, fans are eager for the sequel. So eager, in fact, that the sudden influx of players on Steam, Xbox Game Pass, and others seems to be too much for servers to handle.
The Steam and even Xbox Game Pass pages for Hollow Knight: Silksong crashed upon the game's global release. Seemingly, the pages are functioning again, for now, but are reportedly running very slowly. There are also reports that the game's product pages are still not loading on certain platforms.
Reports of Steam outages skyrocketed right as Silksong was released globally. Fans were excitedly logging in to Steam and other platforms this morning to play the game right as it went live, only to be greeted by error messages, payments not being accepted, and the entire product page not appearing. Steam, Xbox, Game Pass, and PlayStation were all affected.
As of this writing, it appears that some fans can add Silksong to their digital carts, but...
