There are lots of interesting characters crammed into Baldur's Gate 3, but none are quite as mysterious as the Strange Ox.
A recent Reddit thread by Blastoise_R_Us suggests that a lot of players still don't know what the Strange Ox was up to, despite most parties having encountered it at some point in their playthrough.
You first meet this enigmatic farm animal at the Emerald Grove; characters with a talent for the arcane can discern that there's something not quite right about the ox. With some gentle prodding, the "animal" can be persuaded to engage in a brief conversation with the party.
This is likely the first and last time many players encountered this creature, but it actually appears at several points in the game. In Act 2, the Strange Ox can be found at the Last Light Inn, where it will telepathically transmit horrific images of corpses and screaming to the player.
