Hades is now available on Xbox Game Pass. The award-winning ARPG is the eighth new title to make its way to the subscription service in September 2025, as well as the 116th new Xbox Game Pass release since the beginning of the year.
Developed by San Francisco-based Supergiant Games, Hades is an action RPG that casts players as Zagreus, the son of the Greek god of the underworld whom the game itself was named after. Zagreus's goal is to escape from the underworld, which is easier said than done, and will require many attempts. The gameplay loop was designed to complement this narrative hook, as Hades is a roguelike with procedural level generation and meta progression that makes each subsequent run a bit easier. It even features non-linear story progression that actively reassembles a massive amount of authored dialogue and events based on what the player accomplished on their latest run.
