The Wait For Titanfall 3 Just Got A Whole Lot Easier

If you're like me, you're hopelessly still waiting for Titanfall 3, despite Respawn Entertainment canceling the project. Titanfall 2 set a high bar for mech and pilot hybrid gameplay, with satisfying combat and movement with an incredibly high skill ceiling, yet the franchise has been dormant since 2016. A new game clearly inspired by Titanfall, however, could be exactly what you're looking for.

Developer and publisher Tetra Studios released a new trailer for its upcoming FPS ShatterRush, which boasts similarly high-flying, mecha-filled gameplay. ShatterRush is in open pre-alpha on Steam, meaning you can play it right now. It features the familiar mech-and-pilot gameplay, wall-running and grappling hook included, but also takes things a step further with destructible environments. ShatterRush is expected to be in this playable, pre-release state for roughly a year, with its tentative release window currently set for Q3 2026.

Even just watching the ShatterRush trailer, the Titanfall parallels are clear. The main avenue of iteration, however, is ShatterRush's destructible environments.
