Dragon Quest fans have had a lot to celebrate recently. With the release of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince two years ago and the HD-2D remakes of the original trilogy, Square Enix is putting effort into holding fans over until the eventual release of Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate. But during the latest Nintendo Direct, Square Enix made a surprising announcement by revealing another remake.
It was revealed during the presentation that Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles on February 5, 2026. It was also revealed that the Switch edition will be available both physically and digitally, but the Switch 2 edition will be receiving a game key card release instead of a full physical one.
