Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart now has an official release date.
On the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will release on June 11th. It was also announced that pre-orders have started, and that there will be different editions of the game. For those who want to buy the game digitally, there is the Digital Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition. When pre-ordering the Digital Standard Edition, players will receive two early unlock bonuses: The Carbonox Armor and the Pixelizer weapon. The Carbonox Armor is from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and will feature high-definition materials, lighting responses, and ray-traced reflections. The Pixelizer will also be updated for the PlayStation 5. There will also be the Digital Deluxe Edition, which will come with five additional armor sets, 20 Raritanium, a sticker pack to use in Rift Apart's photo mode, as well as a digital artbook and digital soundtrack.
Rift Apart will also come in physical editions. There will be the physical Launch Edition which will come with the same unlocks as the Digital Standard Edition. Those who buy the Standard Physical Edition can upgrade to receive the items found in the Digital Deluxe Edition for an additional $10. Those who pre-order Rift Apart will receive a $5 discount off official merchandise on the PlayStation Gear online shop after the game launches.
In Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the evil Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he wins: a galaxy where Ratchet and Clank are separated. As the pair tries to reunite, they meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, explore new and familiar locations, and wield a whole new arsenal of weapons. For those who have never played a Ratchet & Clank title, this will be an excellent way to jump into the series as this is a stand-alone storyline. However, Ratchet & Clank veterans will find connections to previous games.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will release for the PlayStation 5 on June 11th.
