Larian Studios has released a brand-new Baldur's Gate 3 update for September 2025. While the new Baldur's Gate 3 update is mostly composed of miscellaneous bug fixes, it does feature some exciting news for Steam Deck owners.
Larian released Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 8 earlier this year as the final major content drop before the developer largely moved on from its critically acclaimed RPG. Despite this, the studio has released several smaller hotfixes in the months since, addressing issues that don't require extensive manpower. Obviously, Larian has to move on at some point, but it's still good to see the title supported to some degree over two years after its release.
The new Baldur's Gate 3 update patch notes were posted to the game's website. Titled Hotfix 34, the update is mainly composed of small Baldur's Gate 3 bug fixes, as well as solving "some rather annoying instances of crashing on Xbox." Players on all platforms should benefit from the "overall improvements to the way game models are streamed," which consequently "should reduce framerate spikes in busy areas, such as the Lower City in Act 3," according to Larian.
