Yakuza Kiwami 3 Revealed with a New Trailer

During the RGG Summit 2025, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku unveiled the official trailer for Yakuza Kiwami 3, which will be a full remake of Yakuza 3 and will feature updated graphics and gameplay plus a new story. Following the release of Yakuza Kiwami in 2016 and Yakuza Kiwami 2 in 2017, audiences have been hoping for Yakuza 3 to receive the same updated treatment, and Ryu Ga Gotoku has finally made those wishes a reality.

The original Yakuza 3 was released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and followed the story of protagonist Kazuma Kiryu as he defends his orphanage from enemies attempting a shady land grab. While it was not the most popular title in the Yakuza video game series at launch, largely due to its clunky fight mechanics and lack of side quests, the upcoming remake of Yakuza 3 looks to introduce much-needed quality of life changes to bring the game up to speed with the franchise's newer entries.
