Housemarque's follow-up effort to Returnal, and their first game since Sony acquired the company, was shown off for the first time at the September 24 State of Play. Where Returnal felt almost like a third-person Metroid with its sci-fi setting and you versus the planet approach, this game brings some of that vibe back even in brief clip form, while also expanding upon the ease of use for players. The camera looks to be behind the back in a similar angle as Returnal, but the more fantasy-based setting and bright lighting helps it stand out.
Saros looks to follow up on Returnal with a more combat-centric approach. The action also looks faster and more frenetic, while Returnal had fast combat as well, it was more of a blend of exploration and combat with a ton of atmosphere driving things forward. There are a plethora of weapons available to use too, with a variety of long-range attacks shown off alongside the Soltari Shield to absorb the impact of projectile attacks.
