A Kanto-themed Raid Day is on the way for Pokémon GO.
On the Pokémon GO blog, it was revealed that there will be a Kanto-themed Raid Day next weekend in the game. The event will take place on Sunday, February 28th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. During this time, the Legendary Bird Trio, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, will appear in five-star Raids. Lucky players will be able to run into Shiny versions of these Pokémon. Players will also be able to pick up a free bundle of three Remote Passes in the shop on Saturday, February 27th through Monday, March 1st. Gamers will also be able to earn up to five free Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at PokeStops or Gyms during the event.
During the Kanto-themed Raid Day event, Giovanni will appear with a different Shadow Legendary Pokémon. Players will be able to complete new Team GO Rocket Special Research in order to save the Pokémon. Team GO Rocket Grunts will also be appearing more frequently at PokeStops, as well as in balloons throughout the event. Finally, gamers will be able to use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
Earlier this week, it was announced which Pokémon will be featured in Pokémon GO's March Community Day. Fletchling will be the focus of next month's Community Day, which will take place on March 6th, running between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Fletchling will appear more frequently in the wild, with there being a chance to run into a Shiny one. Those who evolve a Flecthinder (Fletchling's evolution) during the event or up to two hours after will be rewarded with a Talonflame that knows the move Incinerate. There will also be a Special Research Story during the Community Day, entitled The Bravest Bird, which players will be able to access for $1.
