During PlayStation's State of Play on Wednesday, Sega announced that Mega Man and Proto Man will be playable racers in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as part of the first season pass. It will be the first reunion between Mega Man, Pac-Man, and Sonic the Hedgehog since they battled in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It seems like the one missing out on the party is Mario.
Mega Man Warps into a Kart Racer
Despite getting leaked within a leaflet of early physical copies of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, seeing the iconic Mega Man in a Sonic kart racer is pretty cool to see. In the trailer, he is in a cart inspired by his robot companion Rush. His cute little dog-like face is on the front of the vehicle.
There will also be a track based on Dr Wily's Castle, and there are multiple bosses from the series' history that appear as hazards in the race. The theme music from Dr Wily's Castle can be heard within the trailer and will be in the game. You'll be able to get this Capcom content within Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds sometime in 2026.
