We’re still very early in the life of the Nintendo Switch 2, even if it doesn’t feel that way. Exclusives from The Big N have already dominated the console’s early cycle, and more are on the way. Just as important, key 3rd party developers are ensuring that their titles will be on the console sooner or later, which includes a plethora of titles from Square Enix. Final Fantasy VII Remake, for example, will arrive on January 22nd for both Switch 2 and Xbox platforms. In a chat with Inverse, Director Naoki Hamaguchi discussed the key moment that allowed the upcoming port to happen:
Hamaguchi was clear that Final Fantasy VII Remake would look different on Nintendo Switch 2. However, as proven by recent demos at key events, it’ll still look and play well:
He also teased that Rebirth would run well on the Switch 2, which will make fans happy. What will make them happier, though, is that the Director made it clear that more titles are on the way:
