Resident Evil Requiem was spotted at Tokyo Game Show 2025, and some lucky players got to try it out on the Nintendo Switch 2. The next installment of Capcom's legendary Resident Evil franchise was announced earlier this year at Summer Game Fest, and it will be available on the Switch 2 at launch.
TJ Denzer was at Tokyo Game Show 2025 earlier this week on behalf of Shacknews, and he was able to play some of Resident Evil Requiem on Switch 2. According to him, the game seems to run smoothly on Nintendo's portable hardware, with the RE Engine not suffering any major abnormalities while rendering Resident Evil Requiem's opening cutscene and level.
Resident Evil Requiem will be the first mainline game to be available on a Nintendo console at launch in a long time. The news of a Switch 2 version was first announced at the September 2025 Nintendo Direct livestream, which also revealed Switch 2 ports of the previous two Resident Evil entries.
