Square Enix has revealed more information on some brand-new additions to the upcoming Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. Besides the graphical uplift for current generations and updates to the gameplay systems, the game will include new content to expand on the two classics, including an underwater area to explore.

Dragon Quest is a classic RPG series and one of the most influential videogame franchises in Japan. Ever since the original release in 1986, the series has spanned multiple sequels, spin-offs and multimedia projects.
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake brings back the first two games in the series, reimagining them with the HD-2D style that Square Enix's Team Asano has become famous for. Along with Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, they are part of the Erdrick trilogy, with the first and second games being chronological sequels to the third.
