Capcom has announced during Tokyo Game Show week on Wednesday that both Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin are heading to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S later this year. This is likely to help players get a head start on the franchise before the third game launches on Xbox systems.
A Release Date Has Been Confirmed
Players will be finding and befriending Monstees when these two RPGs launch on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on November 14, 2025. This will give Xbox fans time to catch up to this rock-paper-scissors RPG before the third entry comes out on March 13, 2026. The first two games do seem more family-friendly than the third game, which seems to feature a deeper storyline with royalty involved.
The Monster Hunter Stories series is quite different from the mainline titles. The biggest major difference is the turn-based combat.
