We now have a release date for Kena: Bridge of Spirits

During Sony's recent State of Play event, Kena: Bridge of Spirits was given a release date. Gamers can expect the game to drop on August 24th. The game will release for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as PC through the Epic games Store. A new trailer was dropped, giving us a new look at the upcoming title (seen here). There will be two editions of the game: the standard edition and the digital deluxe edition. Buying either edition will grant players a copy of the game for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The standard edition will set players back $39.99. The digital deluxe edition will cost $49.99, and will come with additional content, including the title's soundtrack, golden Rot skins, and an in-game staff.

"We're taking the next few months to further polish and optimize for the best possible game," Josh Grier of Ember Labs stated (via IGN). "It's been quite an experience completing our first title during the pandemic. We are super excited to reveal the latest trailer and announce the release date."

Kena: Bridge of Spirits has players take on the role of a young Spirit Guide making her way to an abandoned village in search of a sacred mountain shrine. Kena will be able to find and grow a team of tiny spirits known as the Rot, who maintain balance by decomposing dead and rotting elements. The Rot that Kena finds can grant powerful abilities, help make discoveries, and transform the environment. Players will uncover a forgotten village and a strange curse as they draw power from the Spirit Realm to restore a once-majestic world. They will also have to take on corrupt Spirits who are trapped and are not able to move on from this world.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits will release for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC through the Epic Games Store this August.
