Hades 2's secret new character makes fun of the time-old tradition of players just using Nectar to sweeten up characters enough to get a Keepsake from them.

Relationships are a tricky thing in the real world, but they're as simple as can be in Hades. As it turns out, all you really need to do to get people to like you is to gift them the drink of the gods. Seems simple enough, and doing it in both Hades and Hades 2 is enough to entice a character into giving you a special Keepsake.

It's a practice that both Hades 2's protagonist, Melinoe, and original Hades hero Zagreus, are more than familiar with since they've had to do it countless times in their respective adventures. You might think that they're unaware of the very game-y mechanics of relationships, but Zagreus actually references the relationship system in some optional dialogue.
