The Nintendo Switch 2 has had a lot of comments made about it since its launch in June, and technically even before then. Many have cited “controversies” around Nintendo’s “policies” with certain elements, like the price of its games, which are a “variable system” compared to past consoles they made. However, the one that many cite as the “biggest problem” is the game key card system, which is prominent amongst most 3rd party games. Many gamers don’t like it. However, many developers and publishers are fine with it, including Square Enix.
The reason I can say that with certainty is that Square Enix Director, and the man behind the Final Fantasy VII Remake Saga, Naoki Hamaguchi, talked with IGN Brazil at the Tokyo Game Show, and he noted in a statement that the upcoming ports of the final two entries in the saga will be on the game key cards, and he’s fine with that. Why is he fine with that? Simply put, using these key cards is the best way to ensure performance on the Nintendo Switch 2.
