We now know who will be playing Tiny Tina in the upcoming Borderlands film.
It has been announced that Ariana Greenblatt will be playing Tiny Tina in the upcoming Borderlands movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Greenblatt will be taking on the role of the young explosives expert. Greenblatt had played a young Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War, and starred in Disney's The One and Only Ivan. She also co-starred in the post-apocalyptic love story Love and Monsters. Greenblatt recently wrapped 65, a sci-fi thriller in which she will star alongside Adam Driver.
"Ariana is a spectacular new talent in cinema," stated director Eli Roth. "She has already worked with many of my close collaborators and everyone raves about her. She blew us away in her audition, and I cannot wait to see her bring the wild, insane and unpredictable Tiny Tina to the big screen. She's going to blow up on screen like one of Tina's grenades."
Greenblatt is joining an all-star cast in Borderlands. Last month it was announced that Jack Black will play the role of Claptrap. Soon before that, it had been announced that Jamie Lee Curtis will be taking on the role of Dr. Patricia Tannis. Kevin Hart will be playing Roland, a soldier and one of the original Vault Hunters that was featured in the first Borderlands game. Last year it had been revealed that Cate Blanchett will be playing the role of Lilith, a Siren and one of the original Vault Hunters alongside Roland. The other two original Vault Hunters, Mordecai and Brick, have not been casted at this point.
The Borderlands film was announced last year. Eli Roth will be directing the film, while Chernobyl's Craig Mazin will pen the script. Avi and Ari Arad will produce the movie, while Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford will serve as an executive producer.
The most recent Borderlands game, Borderlands 3, is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
