Baldur's Gate 3 has adjusted its September 2025 patch notes to reflect support for Intel XeSS it forgot to mention. While Larian Studios is hard at work on other, currently unspecified, future projects, the company hasn't abandoned its massively successful 2023 RPG. Updates for Baldur's Gate 3 are still rolling out, and the latest one is even bigger than it initially seemed.

Larian has made it clear that the studio is shifting its focus away from the RPG, but that hasn't impeded its popularity. After the last major update came out in April 2025, Baldur's Gate 3 drew over 169,000 concurrent players on Steam, a jump of more than 100,000 people over the day prior. Since then, the game has received multiple smaller patches and hotfixes, but at least one was not quite as small as players may have thought.

On September 30, a week after the last patch went live, Larian tweeted that it forgot to mention the update includes support for Intel XeSS on compatible devices.
