EA has issued a new report on the ongoing save file corruption that some players have been facing in The Sims 4. This follows up on a prior report from August, when The Sims 4 reassured fans that it was investigating corrupted saves to find a resolution.

The Sims 4 is a very popular game, but that hardly means that it's without problems. Over the years, numerous bugs have popped up in The Sims 4, with some significantly impacting gameplay or even the ability to play, while others are merely cosmetic. Unfortunately, players have been having issues with save file corruption in The Sims 4 since the end of 2023, causing considerable frustration for impacted players.

In a new post, EA has acknowledged that the Sims 4 save file corruption that began with the release of For Rent in 2023 is still being investigated. The dev team says that after attempting to reproduce the issue, the team has determined that the game's scratch files and lot data are likely the culprit.
