It seems that Krieg has been casted for the upcoming Borderlands film.
It has been announced that the Borderlands film has found its Krieg. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Florian Munteanu is in final negotiations to play the character. Munteanu is a boxer-turned-actor, and is known for his role as Viktor Drago in Creed II. He will play Razor Fist in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and will also be featured in Violence of Action.
"Florian brings real humanity and multiple layers to a character who on the surface seems totally insane and brutally savage," director Eli Roth stated. "Krieg was by far the most difficult role to cast, and Florian brought him to life and grounded him in a way that I didn't know was possible. He's going to be a brilliant Krieg and will fit perfectly with our incredible cast."
Munteanu will be joining a star-studded cast in the Borderlands film. Last week it was revealed that Ariana Greenblatt, who has starred in The One and Only Ivan, will be playing Tiny Tina. Last month it was revealed that Jack Black will be playing the ever annoying Claptrap, and that Jamie Lee Curtis will be portraying Dr. Patricia Tannis. Kevin Hart will be playing the role of Roland, one of the original Vault Hunters from the first Borderlands title. Cate Blanchett will be playing Lilith, a Siren and another of the original Vault Hunters. The other two original Vault hunters, Brick and Mordecai, have not been casted at this point. The film is being directed by Eli Roth, and will be penned by Chernobyl's Craig Mazin. Avi and Ari Arad will produce the movie alongside Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford.
The latest Borderlands title, Borderlands 3, is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
