Escape from Tarkov Announces Console Version and First Post-Launch DLC

Escape from Tarkov is coming to consoles, Battlestate Games has announced. The developer also revealed the theme of Escape from Tarkov's first post-launch DLC and talked about its future plans for the IP, which include new games.

In April 2025, Battlestate Chief Operating Officer Nikita Buyanov said Escape from Tarkov wouldn't come to consoles before it's ported to the Game Boy. The cheeky remark was widely interpreted as the executive dismissing the possibility of a console port. However, it now appears that the statement was (even) less serious than fans originally thought.

In a newly published aftermovie recapping Battlestate's Tokyo Game Show 2025 presence, Buyanov revealed that Escape from Tarkov will be coming to consoles after all. This tidbit was shared in passing, with the COO not elaborating on the matter any further. No specific platforms were mentioned, but if the console version is planned to arrive in the near future, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are both likely candidates to receive it.
