On October 18, the Halloween-inspired Hallow's End event returned to World of Warcraft with new cosmetic rewards for players to earn for a limited time. The new World of Warcraft rewards are based around the seasonal boss of Hallow's End, the Headless Horseman, as players can earn new editions of his weapons, armor, and notorious mount for their collections.
The origins of Hallow's End in World of Warcraft trace back to its predecessor, the real-time strategy game Warcraft 3. During the course of The Frozen Throne expansion, the undead banshee Sylvanas Windrunner and her minions broke free of the Lich King's waning control. This splinter faction came to be known as the Forsaken, and would later join the Horde as one of the first playable races in World of Warcraft. The Forsaken celebrate Hallow's End to commemorate their freedom, while the Worgen observe it as a grim reminder of the dangers they have overcome. Hallow's End is currently available in The War Within and in WoW Classic.
