EA Play Comes to Xbox Game Pass PC Tomorrow

After several leaks suggesting that EA Play would imminently be added to Game Pass for PC just as it has been on console since December, today Microsoft has confirmed the news, continuing an all-time hot streak for the subscription service.

"We’re excited to share with you that starting tomorrow, March 18 at 2:00 p.m. PT, Xbox Game Pass PC and Ultimate members will be able to enjoy all the benefits of EA Play on Windows 10," said an official press release from the Game Pass team. "We want to thank the PC community for your patience over the past few months as we worked to deliver a better Xbox App experience for EA Play."

For months, it's been speculated that the only hold-up was moving some of the 60+ games in EA Play to the Windows 10 Store and outside of EA Origin, or Steam for that matter, where EA's games finally landed last year. The past week has seen several of those games trickling over to the Windows Store on PC and today's news seems to confirm that was the issue but it's now been resolved as expected.

EA Play is a subscription service which gives players access to dozens of EA games spanning many genres and many years. New releases tend to offer timed trials, while older games are playable in their entirety once they're added to the service permanently, typically around 6-12 months after their respective launches.

Currently the service offers major games such as Madden NFL 21, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, many years worth of Battlefield games, and The Sims 4, which will likely be a popular choice on PC Game Pass specifically. Tomorrow, Star Wars Squadrons will come to the service for PC and console alike.

Players who already have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will unlock access to EA Play at no additional charge, as that level of membership already includes Game Pass for console, PC, cloud, and an EA Play membership. You will be prompted to download the EA Desktop app when you go to install your first EA Play game from the Game Pass app, but that's the only loophole players need to worry about.

Recently, Game Pass was buffed with other big headlines like 20 new Bethesda games now in Game Pass and Outriders landing on Game Pass at launch.
