Steam users have just a few days to check out a demo of an upcoming Metroidvania, This Is Fine: Maximum Cope, based on the iconic 'This Is Fine' meme by cartoonist KC Green. This Is Fine: Maximum Cope is part of the ongoing Steam Next Fest game demo event, and will launch on PC and consoles in March 2026.
As one of the most iconic memes of the 2010s, 'This Is Fine' first appeared on KC Green's webcomic Gunshow in 2013. The comic depicts a dog in a hat, named Question Hound, drinking coffee as he utters the famous line. As the comic goes on, everything around Question Hound burns in a fiery blaze. The comic has since been used on social media as an ironic metaphor for when things are not fine, reaching prominence in 2014 after the first two frames of the now-famous comic made the rounds on Reddit. Although Gunshow was retired in 2014, the notoriety of 'This Is Fine' has allowed Green to pursue other projects.
