Battlefield 6 has quietly nerfed XP bot farming lobbies in a new update, fulfilling a promise made to the game's community last week. The new Battlefield 6 update brings some big changes to how XP is awarded in certain Portal lobbies.

Since launch, some players have been using Battlefield 6's Portal mode to join lobbies filled with bots, killing them easily to level up weapons and complete challenges rapidly. While this is technically allowed, it wasn't exactly what Battlefield Studios was intending Portal to be used for. So last week, the developer confirmed plans to nerf these XP bot farming lobbies.

The developer certainly hasn't wasted any time - a new update quietly pushed to Battlefield 6 has removed Mastery XP and challenge completion from any Portal lobby with bots enabled. This change should essentially kill Battlefield 6 bot lobbies in their tracks, meaning players will have to return to normal matchmaking to continue ranking up their weapons.
