Metroid Prime 4 Shows New Gameplay While Promising 120fps on Switch 2

The Metroid Prime 4: Beyond marketing campaign is beginning in earnest, having just yielded two holiday-themed ads promoting Nintendo's next big platform exclusive. Apart from advertising the hardware capabilities of the Switch 2, the promos also offer a few glimpses at some previously unseen Metroid Prime 4 gameplay footage.

June 13 marked the eighth anniversary of Metroid Prime 4's original announcement. A lot has changed since the E3 2017 reveal, which presented the game as a Bandai Namco project before Nintendo rebooted it under Retro Studios in 2019. Back in September, Metroid Prime 4 finally locked down a release date: December 4, 2025. Contrary to some fans' expectations, however, Nintendo did not start advertising the game on any significant scale immediately following that announcement.

The company's marketing efforts appear to be ramping up as of the second half of October 2025, when two new Metroid Prime 4: Beyond ads started making the rounds on social media. Both double as advertising for the Switch 2, presenting Nintendo's latest hybrid console as the ideal way to "power up" one's holidays.
