Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 Delayed to 2026

Over on the Elden Ring Twitter account, it has been mentioned that release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, which is in development for the Nintendo Switch 2, has been delayed until 2026.

While I applaud Bandai Namco and FromSoftware for delaying the game, and rightfully so, based on what I have seen and experienced during multiple hands-on sessions at past gaming events, I was not impressed with what I played. This also goes against what some have reportedly stated about the game being in great shape and running well, which, from my experience, was not the case.

This is fantastic news for Nintendo Switch 2 owners interested in playing Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the platform. Especially since Elden Ring has been out for years across multiple platforms and still suffers from a number of performance issues that have yet to be addressed. This is coming from someone who has played the title on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and has always wondered why FromSoftware had not fixed those problems.

Seeing them delay the Switch 2 release makes me confident that the handheld version might actually launch in much better shape.  At least, I...
