With the release of Pokemon Legends Z-A on the Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo is gearing up for a two-month period of big releases. The question on everyone’s mind is how well each game will do, and how that will lead to overall sales for the consoles and software. Thankfully, Famitsu has given us the answer for how well the latest Pokémon game will do, for it has dropped the launch week numbers for the title, and it is a massive number, regardless of which console you got it on.
For the OG Switch, Pokemon Legends Z-A sold 872,552 physical units. Then, for the Switch 2, it sold 612,905 units. That’s significant for multiple reasons, not the least of which is that it sold well across BOTH platforms, with only about 250K in difference. That’s impressive given how many Switch 2 units are in Japan right now, about 2.2 million sold, and how long the OG Switch has been out.
