Last month it was announced that remakes for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are on the way. Entitled Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the games will be released for the Nintendo Switch sometime this year. In a trailer, we were able to see the art style that the games will utilize. When players are in the overworld, characters will feature a chibi look, similar to the original Diamond and Pearl. Once gamers enter battle, characters will have more realistic proportions. According to Nintendo, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will stay faithful to the originals. The story of the originals will be faithfully reproduced, while the sense of scale in the original game's towns and routes will be preserved. While the remakes will be mostly faithful to the originals, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will feature player-friendly conveniences that can be found in more recent Pokémon titles.
Pokémon Sword and Shield are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
