Ratchet & Clank will be receiving an upgrade on the PlayStation 5 next month.
On Twitter, developer Insomniac Games announced that 2016's Ratchet & Clank will be receiving an upgrade on the PlayStation 5. According to the tweet, the game will soon be playable in 60 fps. The upgrade will be released for the game through an update set to drop in April. No other details were given. Ratchet & Clank is currently free to download for PlayStation gamers. The game will be free until March 31st. The game is free through Sony's Play at Home initiative, and does require any subscriptions to be downloaded.
Ratchet & Clank is just one of a number of games that are currently available for free through the Play at Home program. Other games that are currently free include Abzu, Enter the Gungeon, and Rez Infinite. These game will be free to download until April 22nd. Sony also announced that Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will be free for all PlayStation gamers starting on April 19th. The game will be available until May 14th. Sony is also offering an extended trial of Funimation. The trial will be available through April 22nd. The Play at Home initiative will extend through the month of June.
The latest game in the Ratchet & Clank series, Rift Apart, will release on June 10th. Rift Apart will feature a number of new weapons, including the Burst Pistol, Topiary Sprinkler, and the Shatterbomb. The game will take advantage of the DualSense's adaptive triggers, with each weapon having unique responses. The game will also take advantage of the PlayStation 5's fast loading SSD, allowing gamers to travel between worlds at high speed. The title will come in a Standard Edition that includes just the game, as well as in a Digital Deluxe Edition, which comes with a number of bonuses, including in-game items and a digital art book.
Ratchet & Clank is available now for the PlayStation 4. The latest game in the series, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, will release in June for the PlayStation 5.
