Final Fantasy 7 Remake director Naoki Hamaguchi has told fans to expect news on the long-awaited and somehow still untitled Part 3 in the "not too far future".

Although it might feel like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launched not that long ago, we're actually fast approaching the game's two-year anniversary. With that in mind, fans are starting to wonder when we might finally get an update on the third and final game in the remake trilogy.

Square Enix and the developers behind Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth have been surprisingly honest in the past about how the game's development is going, even if we haven't seen anything concrete just yet. That might be changing sooner than we thought, though, as the game's director has recently promised that news is on the way.

As reported by GamesRadar+, Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy director Naoki Hamaguchi recently took part in the "Echoes of Midgar" panel at MCM Comic Con London 2025. During the panel, Hamaguchi was somewhat strangely asked by one fan if Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 had been cancelled, despite how much it's been openly talked about in the last year or so.
