Dungeons and Dragons has officially revealed eight new subclasses that will be coming to the 2024 edition of the game with its upcoming expansion, Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun. The rollout of the newest revision to the massively popular tabletop role-playing game last year saw plenty of significant changes, ranging from classes and species to mechanics and more. The 2024 revision brought four subclasses for each of Dungeons and Dragons' core twelve classes, both revising popular subclasses like Berserker Barbarian and adding new options like Soulknife Rogue. Now, the next new book will bring even more subclasses.
Dungeons and Dragons' subclasses serve as one of the main ways for players to individualize their characters' builds, offering multiple different paths to take. Players taking classes like Fighter and Rogue can choose to add magic into their repertoire by taking magic-focused subclasses like the Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster. Magic-oriented classes often use subclasses to differentiate their playstyle, with different subclasses typically offering access to their own unique lineup of exclusive spells. A new report is now detailing eight upcoming subclasses for Dungeons and Dragons' next expansion.
