Starfinder: Afterlight's crew of spacefaring companions welcomes a new member: Preach, an insectoid Shirren mystic who protects an utterly adorable larva. Preach is voiced by award-winning actor, director, and performance capture artist Neil Newbon. Newbon previously announced that he is serving as the voice director for Starfinder: Afterlight. Since that announcement, fans have been eager to know if he would lend his iconic voice to the project, and now they have their answer.
In a conversation with Game Rant, Newbon revealed that it took "very little persuasion" from Epictellers Entertainment for him to step into the Starfinder: Afterlight role. Preach joins the previously revealed crew of Kole Stryker (Fred Tatasciore), Tycho (Inel Tomlinson), Lu-323 (Melissa Medina), and Sterling (James Alexander), who team up to search for the missing Captain Khali (Carolina Ravassa).
Newbon described Preach as "a little bookish" and very dedicated to his role as the "guardian of the Golden One," a larva who is prophesied to bring miracles to his people. He felt that Preach serves as the "father" of the crew of Starfinder: Afterlight companions, a counterpart to Captain Khali's "mother" role.
