Battlefield 6 Finally Reveals Free-to-Play Battle Royale Mode

After many months of rumors and leaks, publisher EA has finally revealed the free-to-play Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6, officially titled Battlefield RedSec. The mode will launch alongside Battlefield 6 Season 1 tomorrow, October 28, which is also set to bring a plethora of new content to the shooter, including a new map, mode, vehicle, numerous weapons, and more.

A blog post from EA and DICE earlier this year confirmed that a Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6 was in development, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect while also announcing that playtests were underway. As select fans were then given the opportunity to go hands-on with the mode via Battlefield Labs, gameplay snippets began making their way online. While EA remained quiet on the mode, rumors from trusted insiders then claimed that the studio intended to shadow-drop Battlefield RedSec on the same day as Season 1, which has now finally been confirmed just one day prior to the update's release.
