Overwatch's Archives event is back.
On the Overwatch website, it was announced that the game's Archives event is back. The event starts today, April 6th, and will last until April 27th. During the event, gamers will be able to play three different story missions, each with its own challenge missions. Gamers will earn an Archives Loot Box for every first win per mode. The first story mission is Uprising, which will relive Tracer's first mission, and will let gamers play as Tracer, Torbjorn, Reinhardt, and Mercy. Uprising's three challenge missions are Bulletproof Barriers, Molten Cores, and Glass Cannon. Bulletproof Barriers makes enemy barriers invulnerable. Molten Cores has enemies drop drop lava when they die. Finally, Glass Cannon reduces player's health while granting them increased damage.
The second story mission that will be available during the Archives event is Retribution, which has gamers take control of Blackwatch, and lets them play as McCree, Moira, Genji, and Reyes (who later becomes Reaper). Retribution's three challenge missions are Sympathy Gains, Surgical Strike, and Close Quarters. Sympathy Gains makes it so damaging enemies will heal other enemies. In Surgical Strike, only critical hits will do damage. Close Quarters only lets players kill enemies if they are nearby.
The final story mission will be Storm Rising. In Storm Rising, gamers will be able to play as Tracer, Genji, Winston, and Mercy. Storm Rising's three challenge missions are Thunderstorm, Blood Moon Rising, and Storm Raging. Thunderstorm makes it so enemies damage nearby players. Blood Moon Rising removes support heroes, and has players heal themselves by doing damage. Storm Raging makes some enemies enraged, and has the rage spread when those enemies are killed.
There will be three weekly challenges during Overwatch's Archives event, giving players the chance to unlock Icons, Sprays, and Skins by collecting stars. Stars are earned by completing Archives missions, with harder difficulties and challenge missions granting additional stars. During week 1 of the event, taking place from April 6th to 13th, players can earn rewards surrounding Lucio. 10 Stars earns players the Corredor Lucio Player Icon, 20 Stars will grant players the Turn Up the Heat! Spray, and 30 Stars will reward players with the Corredor Lucio Epic Skin. From April 13th to 20th, gamers can earn items surrounding Zenyatta. 10 stars rewards players with the Subaquatic Zenyatta Player Icon, 20 Stars will earn gamers the Deep in Thought Spray, and 30 Stars will grant players the Subaquatic Zenyatta Epic Skin. The final week will take place from April 20th to 27th, and will focus on Mercy. Winning 10 stars will grant players the Camouflage Mercy Player Icon, 20 stars will reward gamers with the Night Mission Spray, and 30 stars will earn players the Camouflage Mercy Epic Skin.
