Nintendo announced on Thursday that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be getting a Switch 2 upgrade in a new trailer. Nintendo also announced a free 3.0 update for Switch 1 players. The Switch 2 edition of the game will include improved visuals thanks to enhanced resolution, making images appear significantly sharper. Switch 2 players will also be able to make use of the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. This makes redecorating your house far easier. This also allows for seamless creation of custom designs.
In addition to the visual bump, the update also includes enhanced online support. Previously, a maximum of 8 players could be on an island at once, but this improvement increases the cap to 12. However, it appears that all 12 players need to have the Switch 2 edition, not just the host. All 12 players will also be able to chat at once using GameChat.
Nintendo Switch 2 players can purchase the digital or physical versions of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game for $64.99. However, if you already own a Switch copy of the game, you can buy the upgrade pack for just $4.99. The Switch 2 edition will launch on January 15....
