Cris Tales now has a release date.

During Nintendo's latest Indie World Livestream, a trailer for Cris Tales was released (seen here). At the end of the trailer, it is revealed that the upcoming RPG will be released on July 20th. For those who want to try the game before it releases this summer, a demo is currently available. Gamers can also pre-order the title's Collector's Edition from the RPG's website, which includes an artbook, enamel pin set, Matias plushie, and more.

Cris Tales began development in 2014. The game was meant to release last November, but was pushed to early 2021. The game was delayed again into this summer. According to the game's publisher, the delay was to give them time to polish the RPG, especially since they have to create every area of the game three times in order to show the past, present, and future of the world.

Cris Tales is inspired by classic JRPGs such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Valkyrie Profile, as well as more recent titles such as Bravely Default and Persona 5. Players will meet and recruit a unique cast of teammates, battle a number enemies, and make their way through an expansive world. Gamers will experience the past, present, and future simultaneously. They will be able to learn from the past, take action in the present, and alter the future depending on the choices that they make. The ability to see different points in time also permeates into Cris Tales' turn-based combat, as enemies can be warped into the past or future. Gamers will be able synchronize attacks for enhanced group abilities, and master their timing of attack and defense in order to go beyond their party's limit.

Cris Tales is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia, and the Nintendo Switch.
