Pokémon GO is celebrating the release of New Pokémon Snap.

On the Pokémon GO blog, it was announced that an event celebrating the release of New Pokémon Snap is on the way. The event will begin on April 29th, and will last until May 2nd. During this time, Pokémon inspired by the deserts, jungles, and underwater landscapes of the Lental region, including Lotad, Cacnea, and Ducklett, will appear more often in the wild. Smeargle will be appearing in more snapshots than usual, with lucky players running into a Shiny one. It was noted that Smeargle will only appear in snapshots a limited number of times, and that while the Shiny form of the Pokémon will no longer appear after the event ends, players may encounter one in future events. Pokémon inspired by the Lental region, such as Vaporeon, Meganium, and Trapinch, will appear more often in raids.

During Pokémon GO's New Pokémon Snap release event, there will be event-exclusive Field research and Timed Research that will be focused on taking snapshots. There will be a camera avatar item and a camera-themed Gift sticker available in the shop during the event. The new Gift sticker will also be obtainable from PokeStops.

New Pokémon Snap will release this month. The game will take players to the Lental region, where they will be able to take pictures of Pokémon in their natural environments. Players will be able to explore dense jungles, vast deserts, and more. Gamers are able to save their photos to a personal in-game album, and will be able to edit and adjust them. Gamers will be able to adjust the brightness, blur, zoom, and other aspects. They will also be able to add stickers, frames, and filters to add a personal touch.

Pokémon GO is available now for mobile devices. New Pokémon Snap will be available for the Nintendo Switch on April 30th.
