The Nintendo Switch 2 Has Sold Over 10 Million Units

While the last episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast had me and my cohosts venting about people saying that “Nintendo hadn’t won the console wars,” or they had “won them only by default,” this week will be a much different story. Why? Because The Big N dropped its latest financial briefing today, and in it was all sorts of information that makes me happy, not the least of which is that, as of the end of September, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold 10.36 million units! And yes, that’s a record-breaking number for just under four months of being on the market.

For context, by this point in time, the OG Switch had only sold 4.7 million, and the now second-place finisher was the PS5 with 7.5 million sold. Oh, and if you want to know the “breakdown” of how the 10.36 million is by region, here you go:

It’s fascinating that Europe has more sales than Japan right now, as that’s not been Nintendo’s biggest market over the years. However, Japan’s market has been sold out pretty much since launch, with each unit selling faster than they can restock! It’s also important to note once again...
