Rockstar Explains Why It Fired GTA 6 Developers

Rockstar Games has refuted the claims of its recently fired Grand Theft Auto 6 developers, stating that the firings were due to leaks. The claim contradicts what the GTA 6 developers themselves have alleged.

While gamers are still eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, there have been some recent concerns and controversy around the game and its developer. A new rumor has indicated that Grand Theft Auto 6 could be delayed yet again, and at the end of October, 30 to 40 developers were left reeling when they were fired from their positions with the company.

Previously, the former Rockstar Games developers and their representatives claimed that they were fired for being part of a union, attempting to unionize, and/or for belonging to a trade union Discord group. However, Rockstar Games has now shared an official statement of its own to Bloomberg, claiming that the decision had nothing to do with members of its company unionizing. Instead, Rockstar Games' representative said that it had found that select individuals were "distributing and discussing confidential information in a public forum," which goes against Rockstar Games' policies.
