SEGA and developer Perfect World have released update 2.4 for Persona5: The Phantom X. This introduces Futaba Sakura to the cast in the free-to-play gacha game currently available on PC and Mobile. The major update also adds a new Palace campaign and more.
A Free-to-Play Spin-Off to the Popular Japanese RPG
Originally released in 2016 on PlayStation 3 and 4, the highly popular Persona 5 has received multiple spin-offs in the years since. One of those is The Phantom X, which was released back in 2024 in Chinese territories and South Korea. It'd eventually have a worldwide release in June 2025.
Developed with mobile devices in mind, the game features a free-to-play experience within the same universe as the original game. Instead of following the original Phantom Thieves, however, the new protagonist, whose codename is Wonder, forms his own group with the same purpose.
Like the console titles, Persona5: The Phantom X features a mix of turn-based RPG moments and slice-of-life school moments. An "Action Points" system restricts the activities players can do, which include getting more synergy with team members, increasing social stats and more.
