PvPvE Survival Shooter Scavengers Hits Early Access This Week

on | OpenCritic

Scavengers was shown off at last year's Game Awards, and if it caught your eye then, you may be interested in its Early Access launch this week. The PvPvE survival shooter heads to Steam Early Access tomorrow, April 28, following some beta periods conducted earlier this year.

Players who wish to get into the Early Access launch will need to watch official streams of the game on Twitch, where they can link their Twitch account to an Improbable account, which they can create at that link if needed. Watching any Scavengers drop-enabled stream will grant them a Twitch Drop after 30 minutes of viewing time. Once redeemed, those viewers will be emailed Steam keys, where they can then become players themselves and join the fray.

Players who have playtested in previous sessions will already have access and even be sent an additional key to share with a friend.

Scavengers is a post-apocalyptic multiplayer shooter set in a world where both the setting and other teams want you dead. Here's more from the team:

Developed by veterans from the Halo, Battlefield, and Battlefront franchises, Scavengers drops players into a hostile frozen wasteland, where squads of three compete to survive and score datapoints against rival teams. Explorers are equipped with a combination of powerful abilities and futuristic weaponry to survive in a strategic battleground that blends sandbox-style PvE and class-based PvP.

If you're not interested in getting into the game via its Twitch Drop system, it will launch as a free-to-play game in more traditional Early Access later in the year, with a console and PC 1.0 release to follow.
