Despite endless complaints about pricing and some players literally begging everyone to vote with their wallet, Fortnite's Sidekicks are already best-sellers in the Store. If you believe Epic, that is.
For as long as Fortnite has been around, it's been making some controversial choices about its pricing and item releases. From skins that are still locked behind old battle passes to ridiculously expensive Shoes, Epic is no stranger to annoying players with how it goes about releasing things. The recent Sidekicks might be the most controversial offering in some time, though.
Sidekicks are basically an advanced version of Pets that accompany the player during matches. That sounds cool, but they're also quite expensive for what they are, at around 1,200 - 1,500 V-Bucks. Couple that with their appearance being locked once you've customised them (which means having to buy them again if you want a new look), and Sidekicks have been the last straw for some fans.
Despite how much backlash Sidekicks have received, it seems like everyone complaining might have been part of a vocal minority instead of representing all players. As pointed out by HYPEX, Sidekicks have apparently already become the best-selling items in the Shop...
